High up on a hill overlooking the village of Barbaresco, to the right of the River Tanaro, stands the “La Spinona” farm, where wines have been crafted by the family for decades. The farm is run by its owner, Pietro Berutti, who – together with his son Gualtiero – works the vineyards with almost religious dedication in producing wines which are now celebrated.
For some years the operations in the winery have been entrusted to Pietro’s wine-maker grandson, Pietropaolo, who skilfully safeguards the company’s long-standing traditions while contributing an attractive touch of innovation and international style. Volumes are limited, as the Beruttis are not interested in making wines from grapes not grown on their own vineyards, where the excellent quality is always guaranteed by attentive growing techniques and low yields.
“Few but good” could be the slogan of this wine cellar that relies on integrity and tireless hard work for the high quality of its products.
