Vini Lizzio
The “La Vite” farm is located in a small village at the foot of Mount Etna. The vines are lying at about 600 meter above sea level. They are cultivated mainly with Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Mantellato. The late harvest, the volcanic soil and the skillful work of expert hands differentiate theyr products from others.
The company still works today by old methods used in the past. An object that characterized the Greek era was the “Kyathos”, the ancient painted vase. It is said that the Greeks used it to taste the nectar of Gods, ”the wines”. Hence the idea of associating the name “Kyathos” to the most important wine produced by the company, the “Red Kyathos Anfora”, produced from red grapes of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Mantellato. The amphorae are placed on the ground and age on a controlled humidity environment. The number of bottles is extremely limited, as the wine is only produced in exceptional years.
